Danny's story

Danny use to be a Mormon High Priest, and had the responsibility to instruct and prepare young men and women for their future missions.  He served a full-time Mormon mission as a young adult. At the time he truly believed that the LDS Church was the true church.

Having been an active Mormon for sixty years, Danny is fully aware of the heart and mind of those who are convinced the gospel of Joseph Smith is true.  Fortunately through scripture study, prayer, and the Holy Spirit, God opened his eyes and understanding, and brought him into a loving, saving, relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ.

Danny now receive inquiries from Christians around the world who request information about the methods and teachings of these Mormon missionaries.  He also talks to Mormons, who themselves are looking for answers to questions and concerns about their LDS doctrines and practices.  Many Mormons would identify themselves as Christians, but don’t really understand the difference.

It is because the demand for this information is so great, Danny decided to initiate a project never before attempted in this format; entitled – Talking To Mormons.

Danny would be happy to answer any LDS / Mormon related questions you may have, Whether you are in the LDS Church or investigating the Mormon religion. Danny prefers a phone call | 801-546-2148 and would rather not correspond through email or texts.

Danny Larsen - Interview with Earl Erskine

"It originated from an experience I had a couple of years go, when two Mormon missionaries paid a visit to my home. They came with the intention of encouraging me to return to activity in the LDS Church. As I turned their attention to the Bible for the reasons I found Mormonism to be different from the gospel of Jesus Christ, they were amazed at what they read and learned. Within the same week they returned to my home unannounced to ask me to teach them more. I was spiritually touched and overwhelmed by the honesty and humility they showed in their sincere desire to know truth. It made me realize that these respectful and open conversations between Christians and Mormons are quite possible."

Alma 32-35
Does it matter where you worship God? Does it matter what you wear to church? Is there a second chance after death for people to hear and accept the gospel? Does God dwell in the heart of the righteous? The Book of Mormon says Yes! but the Doctrine and Covenants says No!
Alma 30-31
What was the Raneumptom? What has a more powerful effect on people – the sword or the word? Is God a spirit forever? How many anti-Christs are there in the Book of Mormon? Does the devil have children? Did the Nephites truly practice freedom of religion?
Alma 23-29
How are Book of Mormon proclamations similar, to modern LDS proclamations? What group of people became conscientious objectors to the Nephite-Lamanite war? What does Alma the Younger wish he could be, that was turned into a modern LDS song?
Alma 17-22
Are altar calls of the 1800’s reflected in the Book of Mormon? Why couldn’t Ammon marry King Lamoni’s daughter? Are horses and chariots on wheels an anachronism in the Book of Mormon? Does the Book of Mormon teach the Christian concept that God is Spirit, or does it teach the LDS concept that God has a physical body?
Alma 13-16
How does the Book of Mormon justify there being many “high priests” of the “high priesthood” when that clearly contradicts what the New Testament teaches? Did Abraham pay tithing of all he possessed to Melchizedek, or tithing of all from the spoils of war? Did LDS Bishops and Stake presidents ever receive a percentage of the tithing they collected for the services they performed?
Alma 8-12
Why does the Book of Mormon have its own unique monetary system? Is Jesus Christ also the Eternal Father? Does the Book of Mormon confirm there is only one God? Was the Fall of Adam a blessing? The answer to these questions and more in today’s lesson review.
