Pre-Earth Life – Part 2

God is the father of spirits ONLY in the sense that He is the Creator of each human spirit during the physical conception and development of the human body in the womb. Unlike Jesus who, because He is God, pre-existed prior to the creation of His human body, all other spirits have their origin in the womb.

Physical creation precedes the spiritual.

Zechariah 12:1;  Malachi 2:10;  Acts 17:28-29;  1 Corinthians 15:46-49;  Hebrews 12:9

God’s foreknowledge of all things which has not yet happened and those who are not yet born.

Job 38:4-7;  Psalms 139:16;  Jeremiah 1:5;  Ephesians 1:4

No one has ever seen God the Father.

Exodus 33:20;  John 1:18;  John 4:24;  John 5:37-38;  John 6:461 Timothy 1:17;  Hebrews 11:27;  1 John 4:12

Only God (not man) pre-existed and came from heaven.

John 8:23;  John 3:12-1331-32;  John 6:41

The morning stars and sons of God shouting for joy refer to angelic creations and the hosts of heavens which were among the first order of God’s creations in the universe.

This is the obvious explanation for why none of us remembers being there – we weren’t there!  Properly understood in context,  Job 38  not only fails to teach that humans pre-existed in heaven, it clearly assumes they did not.

God is the father of spirits ONLY in the sense that He is the Creator of each human spirit during the physical conception and development of the human body in the womb.  Unlike Jesus who, because He is God, pre-existed prior to the creation of His human body, all other spirits have their origin in the womb.

The LDS teach that Heavenly Parents gave birth to spirit-children in the preexistence.

Quotes from LDS Prophets regarding the preexistence

In the context of Acts 17:28-29 – Paul was preaching to the Athenians.  They were not believers in the true God.  But despite their unbelief, Paul goes on to affirm that we are all  “Offspring of God.”  Why?  Simply because God is our Creator.  Whether we believe in Him or not, we are rightly called His offspring – His creation.

Malachi 2:10  confirms that truth.  It says,  “Have we not all one father?  Hath not one God created us?”  Fatherhood and the act of creating are one and the same in this verse.

Going back to  Acts 17:28-29  it says nothing at all in support of a Heavenly Father and Mother giving birth to spirit-children.  In fact, if you read all of  Acts 17  you’ll see the emphasis is on God’s creation – not procreation.

Please show me a single reference in any book written by the apostle Paul that explicitly states that humans pre-existed in spirit bodies.  You can’t!  The entire Biblical record confirms that we definitely did not pre-exist in a spiritual state before we were created in the physical state.
