The Bible Teaches:

Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of the spoils of war – not a tenth of all his personal possessions or increase.

Under Mosaic Law tithes were paid to the Levites as they served in the tabernacle/temple.

Leviticus 27:30-32;  Numbers 18:23-28;  Deuteronomy 12:6, 11, 17;  Deuteronomy 14:22-23, 28-29;  Deuteronomy 26:12-14

2 Chronicles 31:5;  Nehemiah 10:38;  Hebrews 7:5-6, 8-9

Tithing as a commandment is not found in the New Testament.

Christ fulfilled the law, making mandatory tithes obsolete.
